If you do not take a passenger, the exhaust supports are an excellent way to finish and replace the rear footrest. It is not very aesthetic to remove one footrest and leave the other because you need it to mount the exhaust. The exhaust supports completely replace the footrest and offer you a solid and elegant support to mount the exhaust. You can also get a kit (which is not available on all motorcycles) including a footrest grab plate for the opposite side to cover the bolt holes left when the footrest is removed.
